All looks good from the outside, and to be fair it's partly my fault as I should of researched it more....

However I sold an item for £149 plus postage, but walked away with less than £100....
The fees involved are ridiculous....
I'd advise anyone to do proper research with fees and etsy...
Sold a similar item the same price on ebay and it cost less than half...

It’s not so much as a review as it is an inquiry & that is, when will the items I paid the shipping fee for arrive? I would love to give 5 stars but as I haven’t heard one way or the other as to when I should expect the items to arrive.

Etsy states all natural stones only. Almost 90 of the stones/ gemstones are fake on ETSY and is not natural at all but Overseas sellers have no problem scamming you and or lying to you. Biggest concerning issue is ETSY does not care about the buyers, only the sellers. The sellers are what makes ETSY, not you the buyer. Which is Stupid on ETSY's part because without us their is no ETSY. But ETSY is now about the business/ shareholder. The seller pays Etsy not you.Do not buy gemstones and especially do not but the fake Turqouise...its almost all 99% FAKE! Any plastic cards provided telking you its real... well, those cards are Fake too!

New customer and so excited to order a t-shirt through Etsy but it was not what the picture waste all! The seller said the description matches what was sent to me and I should go by the description, not the picture! Really, what?? I reached out to Etsy and never heard back. I paid $32 for a cheap tank top when It was supposed to be a high necked t-shirt with no sleeves style. I will never order from Etsy again nor will I ever recommend ordering anything from Etsy again. Horrible customer service. I went even further and made a complaint with the BBB regarding a refund and for false advertising.

I have to add my complaint about Etsy to the many, many other bad reviews. I have been ripped off by a seller on Etsy who has lied twice and taken my money. Order not received after a month. I am taking it up with my bank. This should not happen. It's not right.

Nothing resolved my problem whit my orders poor service

I don't have a problem with Etsy sellers or buying on Etsy in general, but I DO have a problem with Etsy not enforcing it's own rules and policies, especially when specific examples are brought to their attention. Example: sellers are supposed to post photos of THEIR OWN WORK. They are supposed to sell either the item shown in the photo, or one like it. Numerous sellers of Medieval style armour on Etsy however (all in India) use stolen photos of armour from reputable armourers or even from museums, and pass them off as photos of "their work". What they actually send you is garbage, poorly made, looking nothing like the photo. Etsy will do nothing about this, even when you send them links to the legitimate website where the photos were stolen from!

Another example: Etsy forbids the sale of items that mock or demean people based on a number of things, including religion, yet there are items for sale on Etsy that mock and demean Christianity, such as a poster of a stripper dancing before Christ and his apostles at the last supper. I'm actually not very religious, but know darn well that if the stripper was dancing in front of the Prophet Muhammed, Etsy would yank the poster in a heartbeat. Double standards!

Whats the problem Etsy? Not enough staff to actually DO something about this? Or maybe money is your bottom line?

Sellers are more at risk than buyers on this site. It’s such a shame that Etsy treats it’s sellers the way they do, it’s increasingly hard to make any profit due to a recent mistake made by the company. The cost of selling has risen very dramatically which has resulted in Etsy having to use its promotions very sparingly, therefore shops are getting much less traffic as no body wants to shop on a site where sellers have to charge so much to cover all of Etsys increasing fees.
For example as a seller, last year I had 90% more sales, traffic and profit (this is crazy as my shop has of course progressed since first opening) however instead of continuing to prevail, Etsy has shadow-banned my shop and stopped bringing sales because of whatever mistake they have made, which new that requires them to scrape every penny possible and hold it back instead of spending it on our promotions as stated. Now this would be semi acceptable if we were being charged a decent percentage less for the big decrease in traffic and promotions, however sales and profits have stopped almost completely and we are still being charged more and more with basically nothing in return.
I really hope Etsy fixes this issue to make selling and buying on this site a much less hostile experience.

They have some unique stuff, unfortunately they have no buyer protection and allow their sellers to flat out steal your money. Will not exchange or refund defective or misrepresented items and they allow sellers to make fraudulent claims against customers by name on their shop pages with no way to defend yourself.

We recently opened an online business through Etsy selling hand-made goods. We were really fortunate that there was an increasing demand for our product. It was challenging to keep up with the flood of new orders but we were adapting to better streamline the process and always kept open lines of communication with the buyers. Etsy decided to suspend our shop without warning causing a MASSIVE influx of negative reviews and open claims because people thought we were a scam that took their money then closed up shop and ran off. Every open case would be closed within minutes of opening and the money taken from us. We were never given the option to reply and showing every order in question had been shipped. So we were out the cost of the order plus shipping and the cost of the items we sent. Etsy also never returned their astronomical fee eventhough the sale was voided. They also held our account hostage claiming we'd owed money but there was no way to pay it. And this "bill" we owed were piles and piles of small charges for things like VAT, transactions, listing fees etc that was impossible for us to have since our account was suspended. Our shop is still suspended with no resolve in site and they've completely bankrupted the business.

One star is one too many for this rip off selling platform.
Fees are extortionate.... customer service is pathetic and gods knows where they've employed them from but haven't got a brain cell between them all.

Never again. Ordered 2 shirts for my daughter from 2 different vendors. 1 shirt arrived no issues and earlier than expected. The other never arrived although it shows as delivered. I tried to contact the vendor and the shirt is unavailable now and the site is no longer unavailable. I contacted Esty to open a case, took more than 4 days and they come back with case closed because it shows the item was received which is not true. Guess I'll have to dispute with my bank now. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Hv ordr many times wth ETSY if it local shippin thn ok. Bt people dnt do international shopping on dis site its horrible u hv to take stress .firstly u wont get ur ordr thn getn ur refund wuld b a pain in ass .dnt trust ETSY to help u at best .

Never received item. They make it impossible to complain, Had to go thru PayPal for a refund. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!!

Don't even bother. Etsy doesn't enforce their own rules and allows cheap, Chinese made garbage to be sold on their website as "handmade" or "vintage" when it's clearly mass-produced. As an online seller myself, I find this extremely dishonest and disgusting. It hurts every honest online seller by driving the price down making it impossible to compete fairly online. Everything is always about the bottom line and to heck with honesty and integrity! You won't have to worry about me EVER buying anything on Etsy and I'm for sure going to give Etsy the reviews they deserve wherever and whenever I find the opportunity. Word of mouth you know is your best friend or worst enemy. Yes, I did attempt to address this with Etsy about 150 times and they did nothing but send me BS excuses and canned email responses.
